If there’s one thing I’ve learned in life, it’s this: You don’t need to have everything.
I was twenty when my first employer asked me, “How do you see yourself in five years?” My impulsive answer was, “I can see myself driving my own car.”
It’s 2019, and my fifth year of working in my second employer. Am I driving my own car? NO. Do I know how to drive? NO. Do I even care? NO.
Life is not life if we receive everything that we wanted. We cannot have everything but at least, we can appreciate what we currently have.
And that is what I’ve got after five years. In my twenty five years of existence, btw.
1. I’ve learned to appreciate myself even more. I heard myself screaming in pain, shouting joy, and whispering despair. I know, life will never be easy, that life is tough. And that is okay. Sometimes, all I need is to appreciate this little me inside.
2. Hindi laging masaya. Sometimes, when sadness visits us, we have to acknowledge Our life is filled with circuits of emotions. It is inevitable. It has to happen to each us things. Kailangang pakiramdaman natin lagi ang puso at tignan kung okay pa ba ito.
3. We always choose to be happy. At times, we opt to be alone and cry in pain. THAT is okay. But then, at the end of the day, we always have the opportunities to see the brighter side of life. If we only push ourselves even more, we will reach the end of the rainbow and see the treasure and gold.
4. Surrounding yourself with authentic and real friends is the key to a happier life. Yes, you can see yourself alone, drinking your favorite cup of coffee, but sticking to genuine friends, is also a must.
In life, it does not matter if you have a lot of friends. What matters most is to have friends who’ll be there when storm comes. Friends who’ll understand and will not tolerate wrongdoings. Tunay at tapat. 
5. Lastly, it is a must to spend more time with your family. Period. No one can ever replace them in your life. So, always find time to these people. They really matter.
I’m turning 26 this year, and I am proud.
I am not yet driving my own car, but at least, I am driving my life with God’s guidance. Yey.
I don’t have the standards of the world, but at least I have God who made this world.
